Marina Diaz : I started weight training, there are now 11 years, under the watchful eye of my husband, Jean-Philippe Diaz, who gave me that passion is for me a lifestyle. I discovered some beautiful female athletes by combining, muscle tone and elegance, through weight training and fitness magazines, as, eg Isabelle Streit, that was for me an inspiration. My first date of competition 2003 where I participated in WPF France in the category-Body Fitness. My first contest allowed me to discover my potential in this world in search of perfection muscle… Determined nature of, Swing, persevering, loving the challenges, I like to go through with my goals. This sport has taught me that the acquisition of a certain mental strength and motivation extreme.
David Andrieu : Why did you choose the category in bikini competition? What sensations do you feel on stage given your ease observed?
Marina Diaz : I chose the bikini category because the criteria for judgment suit me. While I admire the most muscular body, application of this new category does not have too much muscle mass, neither be too dry. The criteria require that an athlete whether feminine bikini, Sports, toned and sexy, while remaining elegant.
For my part, I love being on stage, it gives me well-being,stalking and excitement. All three allow me to be felt in my element. This is an implementation of the results of my daily efforts, both physical and dietary. It is also a real pleasure to tempt and motivate other women to take the plunge of the scene.
David Andrieu : Can you tell us about your weekly training during pre-competition?
Marina Diaz : My training during pre-competition is not so different from my off season training. I train about two hours a day, three times a week. Strength training takes most of my sessions. I work two muscle groups by training and I always end with a reminder of a small group. The rest of my training is devoted to cardiovascular, the abdominal and stretching. My training cycle is established over 2 weeks. An example of weekly planning my training:
Day 1: Two, lumbar and calf
Day 2: Shoulders (muscle group that I devote an entire session)
Day 3: Hamstrings, gluteal
Day 4: Arm, chest and calves
Day 5: Thighs, gluteal
During pre-competition,I only accentuates the exercises in supersets, with shorter recovery time, as well as the cardiovascular- training is more intense. To me, it is important to have a rest day after each day of training, especially near a competition.

I also added carbohydrates, such as wholemeal pasta or rice, Cereal, dried fruit, with salad or vegetables, as well as dairy products to 0%. I do not forget my supplements : acidity gras, vitamins and minerals that are very important in any nutritional program to prevent all kinds of deficiency, especially during pre-competition.
When approaching a strict diet, I reduce calories, eliminating small gaps, and I replace dairy products with soy. I also added fat burners for the duration of my preparation. Here is a typical day in my diet, one month before the competition:
